Frequently Asked Questions about our MST PTA and Membership Toolkit Website

Membership

Q: How do I join the PTA?

A: Go to the Join PTA page and click on the Membership Form to sign up.

Q: Is joining the PTA the same as creating a Membership Toolkit account to access this website?

A: No - signing up with Membership Toolkit is not the same as joining MST PTA! We made the switch to this new website and tool to improve communication, allow for more online transactions, and generally make life easier for MST families. When you create a FREE Membership Toolkit account, you will be able to:

  • Join our PTA (and pay dues) online
  • Sign-up to receive important communications
  • Complete your directory information
  • Sign up for volunteer opportunities
  • Make donations to important MST fundraisers
  • Purchase spirit wear
  • Access the online directory and app (for PTA members only)
  • Access to content website pages just for our families and members

To gain full benefits and best support our campus, we ask that all families both create online accounts AND join the MST PTA.

Family Directory

Q: How do I access the PTA member directory?

A: Go the the PTA Member Directory page. Please remember that you must be logged in and a paid PTA member to access this information.

Q: If I join the PTA, am I required to have my information published in the online directory?

A: No - you can be a member without sharing any of your contact information with other families. You can also limit or choose exactly which information you wish to share, such as just a phone number or email without disclosing your home address.

Q: Do you share my email address with the public if I register with a Membership Toolkit account?

A: No, we keep all emails private and only share information with your specific permission. If group emails are sent for reminders or newsletters, we keep individual email addresses hidden from other recipients.

Volunteering

Q: How can I get involved as a volunteer on campus? I don't have a lot of time, but I still want to help.

A: Please visit the Volunteer section of our website or email volunteers@mstpta.org. We have all kinds of big and small opportunities for families, including those that have a busy work or personal schedule. Our school community is made up of families from across Richardson ISD, and we want everyone to feel welcome to participate and support our students.

Q: How do I complete the required RISD background check? Why do I have to do this?

A: The required background check is available on the Richardson ISD website. Each family member must complete this process each school year. Background checks are district policy to ensure the safety and security of all students.
